The Rahman test

I have had this question for a while now, if I remove the label of A R Rahman and listen to his music, will I still feel the same?

  1. If Raavan was composed by anyone else, would you give a second listening?

  3. probably not..everything is about expectations. Since you expect that Rahman/Mani combination music will be good, you listen to it. Of course part II of the question whether you will like it or not depends on how good it actually is...

  4. Praveen: - that is exactly the question i have too.
Soin: True - i liked taxi taxi song - but wasnt a big fan - when he really craps out - but for the moderate ones.
Na_an: "whether you will like it or not depends on how good it actually is" - this is where my fandom has started creeping in, i think. Every one is dissing Raavan album and i seem to have actually started liking it.

  5. Rahman songs always take a while for people to like it, so will have to wait and watch...

  6. IMHO, for most people, Rahman matters. The brand name always does. There was a time, when Ilayaraja had the same effect. And listening to his songs now, I feel different.
